Yr 6 Mathematics Competition at Windlesham

Cumnor House went to Windlesham House for a Mathematics competition on Tuesday 29th September. Seven Year 6s and one Year 5 made the trip to compete against many other prep and primary schools. The children were placed pairs and competed in three different challenges. The first, was named ‘Figure It Out’ which were algebra style questions. The second round was similar to the Countdown game and the third was named ‘The Big Event’ and consisted of word problems that progressively got harder.

The competition was split into 2 tiers but all children answered the same questions. SK and OB were in the higher tier and came 20th out of 28. EP and TW came 21st out of 28 in the second tier, AH and IM achieved 6th place out of 28. But Cumnor’s leaders were ES and KS (Y5) who came an excellent 4th out of 28.

Well done to all those that took part.
