School Fees Policy.
School fees are payable in advance and should be received by the first day of term. The school strongly encourages payment by electronic transfer as it greatly reduces administrative costs. Full details on payment methods are included in the notes on the fees invoice. An administrative charge, at 3% over bank base rate, may be levied on any fees unpaid after the first day of term. One term’s written notice is required before the removal of a child from the school: otherwise the full term’s fees are payable. This notice must be received not later than the last day of the previous term.
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee per term from the start of the Summer Term 2011 is as follows:
Full Boarders £6,275
Day pupils in the main school £5,275
Pre-Prep pupils £2,790
(Note: Year 3 pupils do not come to school on Saturdays in the Autumn Term and will have a credit of £300 deducted from the fees invoice for that term)
The tuition fee includes compulsory charges, such as personal accident insurance, school doctor, stationery and laundry.
Please note that it does not cover pupils’ personal effects such as musical instruments and sports equipment. You are strongly advised to extend your own household insurance policy or take out a new policy to cover this.

Music
As Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) are self-employed they invoice parents directly and payment should be made to them at the beginning of term in advance of starting music lessons for that term. They will enter into a contract with the parent which provides details about music lessons. The school awards bursaries towards paying for the music lessons of those children who have passed Grade 4 (piano and string instruments) or Grade 5 (brass, wind instruments, drums and vocal) if they are taught by a VMT at the school. Music publications, examinations and any accompaniment by VMTs will be charged at cost as an extra on the fees invoice. Recommended charges are as follows:
Individual practical music lessons £190 a term (for ten 30 min lessons)
Additional music theory £60 a term
Hire of school instruments £40a term
(If a child does not manage to have the right number of lessons in a term, the music teacher will try to add extra lessons the following term or renegotiate the total charge)
Notice required to change activities
Please note that the charges for activities arranged with outside contractors (Ballet, Dance, Judo, Fencing, Tennis and Music) are non-refundable and half a term’s notice is required to make a change otherwise the full amount is payable.
Optional Charges
The following optional charges are included on the fees invoice:
School Fees Insurance
This is a premium to refund fees for absence from school through illness of 5 days or more (day pupils) and 8 days (boarders). It also covers the fees for three terms in the event of death of a parent. The school pays the premium shortly after the start of term and will assume that parents who have not paid promptly for any reason do not wish to take out the insurance. Those who wish to join the scheme are obliged to remain with it for a minimum of three terms, and those who do not want to pay this insurance can ask to have it removed from the invoice. The Bursar has full details.
Royal National Children’s Foundation.
All local IAPS schools have agreed to support this charity to help children who have suffered tragedy or trauma and whose parents are not in a position to finance their private education. An optional charge of £2 is added to all school fees invoices and the funds received go directly to the Trust. The Bursar has full details. (The RNCF has recently changed its name from Joint Educational Trust – JET)
