Geography

Geography is an exciting subject due to its relevance to everyday life, something which is ever changing and increasing as we try to understand the global issues that mankind faces such as ash clouds, volcanoes, floods and mineral deposits.

We believe that discussion actively engages minds and spurs on inquisitive thinkers and we make the most of this in our lessons. During their time at Cumnor the children have the opportunity to learn while ‘out in the field’ as we make the most of the wide range of facilities that Cumnor has to offer as well as going on trips to places such as Kew gardens, The Natural History Museum and to Dorset so the children have the opportunity to learn about the world around them. Geography should encourage a spirit of adventure and build upon a pupil’s natural desire to seek out facts and opinions and we hope to teach to this strength.

Geography is a subject which holds the key to our future.
